The global launch took place at the Los Angeles Auto Show on November 21, 2024, with plans to commence sales in South Korea and the United States in the first half of 2025.

The vehicle’s dimensions are substantial, measuring 5,060 mm in length, 1,980 mm in width, and 1,790 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,130 mm. To manage weight, Hyundai has incorporated aluminum quarter panels and fenders, marking the Ioniq 9 as the company’s first model to utilize a mixed aluminum body.

Inside, the SUV slot88 offers a spacious cabin built on the Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), the same platform used for the Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6. The second-row seats are designed as captain’s chairs that can swivel to face the third row, and both the first and second-row seats can recline fully for enhanced comfort.

The Ioniq 9 is equipped with a 110.3 kWh lithium-ion battery, providing an estimated range of up to 620 km on a full charge. Charging from 10% to 80% capacity can be achieved in approximately 24 minutes using a 350 kW charger. The vehicle is available in multiple configurations, including Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD), Long Range All-Wheel Drive (AWD), and Performance AWD variants. The Performance AWD model boasts dual 160 kW motors on both the front and rear axles, enabling acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.2 seconds.

Regarding the Indonesian market, Hyundai Motors Indonesia (HMID) is currently evaluating the potential introduction of the Ioniq 9. Fransiscus Soerjopranoto, Chief Operating Officer of HMID, indicated that the vehicle is under consideration for the Indonesian market, acknowledging the local preference for spacious vehicles capable of accommodating multiple passengers.

As of now, there is no official confirmation on the Ioniq 9’s release date in Indonesia. However, its global rollout is set to begin in 2025, starting with South Korea and the United States. Indonesian consumers are advised to stay tuned for further announcements regarding its availability in the local market.
